The Vanguard School offers spring athletic leagues in a variety of sports, providing our students with fun, challenging leisure experiences to improve physical fitness, encourage social interaction, and stimulate the mind. For information on our programs, contact us at 719.471.1999.
School athletics are naturally going to help students develop healthy physical habits, as all of our programs are physically intensive. By choosing to play a physical sport like soccer, boys and girls are able to maintain healthy eating habits, and often learn how to prepare their own healthy meals as a result.
The Vanguard School Spring Sports oversees track and field, soccer, tennis, and volleyball.
Through this experience, students are able to develop courage as they take risks, strength while displaying finesse, competitive intensity while exhibiting generosity of spirit, and mental as well as physical endurance. While the focus is to facilitate the development of each student’s athletic potential, the greater hope is to instill motivation to continue lifelong physical activity.
Track and field is the designation given to contests for men and women that involve running, jumping for height and distance, and throwing for distance using implements of standardized design.

Girls who play soccer know the value of teamwork. There’s nothing like the thrill of striving toward a common goal—literally—with dedicated teammates. On top of that, the game reinforces the best qualities of a player’s character: versatility, perseverance, and cooperation. Soccer is one of the world’s most popular sports for several good reasons. Many schools and youth sports leagues offer a chance to play, but not all soccer teams are equal. Not every team lives up to Vanguard’s standards. Go with a youth soccer program that recognizes that the value of the whole person can make all the difference.
Soccer is one of the world’s favorite sports. Legions of fans around the globe enjoy association football (as many nations know it) live, online, and over broadcast media. Internationally, soccer gives hope to smaller nations, nations that often best their first-world competitors. Our high school girls’ soccer team in Colorado Springs becomes part of a global tradition when they play. Every spring semester brings with it many opportunities. Many of those opportunities are in the academic category, but chances for personal and extracurricular involvement also deserve attention. Girls soccer opens the doors for progress, discipline, and fun within the context of an international and timeless game.
