Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy (CMCA) is a tuition-free K-12 Colorado Springs charter school that serves students from across the Pikes Peak region.

Our K-6 school utilizes Direct Instruction and the Core Knowledge® curriculum to achieve student mastery. Students are taught in a fast paced, highly interactive, teacher-directed manner and are expected to learn specific facts and skills at each grade level. CMCA was named “Best of the Springs 2011” in the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Our Junior High provides a transition between our elementary and high school programs that focuses on the unique needs of students in their pre-teen and early teen years.

The Vanguard School is our classical, college preparatory high school where students build upon their knowledge and develop critical thinking and leadership skills by taking honors and AP level classes and by engaging in a variety of leadership opportunities that prepare them for college and beyond. Newsweek ranked Vanguard #130 of America's 500 Best High Schools!

The onus for student achievement is placed squarely on the school. There is a high level of accountability for teachers because we firmly believe that if the student has not learned, then the teacher has not taught.
