Thank you for your interest in The Vanguard School.  We are a tuition-free, public school of choice, and we welcome applications from all across the Pikes Peak region!  Please follow the steps below to begin the admissions process.  If you have any questions, contact Robin Nickel, Director of Enrollment, at 719.471.1999 x101, or by email at robin.nickel@thevanguardschool.com.



1.  Come Visit Us!

The Vanguard School has an open-door policy.  Feel free to stop by at your convenience.  Keep in mind, though, that we have a shortened Friday schedule.

2. Complete a Student Application.


The online application is open for kindergarten through eleventh grade.

For students entering grades 10-11, we require transcripts to ensure students will be able to fulfill our graduation requirements.




3. Take a Placement Test.

Once your child's name is near the top of the wait list, we will email you to schedule placement testing, an assessment we use to ensure that our students will be challenged, successful, and placed at an appropriate grade level.

**Placement testing for grades 1-5Testing takes place in March, April, and May.
     -- You will be contacted via email or phone to schedule testing.
**Placement testing 
for grade 6Testing takes place in March.
     -- You will be contacted via email or phone to schedule testing.
**Placement testing 
for grades 7-11: Testing takes place in February and March.

     -- Your child will only need to attend one session of testing.
     -You will be contacted via email or phone to schedule testing.

4. Enrollment Confirmation.

Once your child has accepted placement, you will be notified about the steps in the registration process.
