At CMCA, we believe that the opportunity for participation in a variety of athletic and activities programs is a vital part of a student’s educational experiences. Such participation is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to the school, the activity, other students, and the athletes themselves. The CMCA athletic and activities programs, a supplement to the school’s academically rigorous curriculum, strives to provide experiences that will help students develop physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. Our coaches support The Vanguard School’s commitment to character education. Coaches will capitalize on teaching moments and integrate character education through their example and verbal reinforcements.
The Vanguard School has been a CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) member since January 2008. We are a Class 2A school, competing in the Black Forest League (BFL).
Browse the "Our Schools" section for information on what is offered for the K-6, Junior High and High School programs. Scheduled events will be published on our Athletics-Activities Calendar as they become available for each sports team, including game/meet dates, opponents, times and transportation information.
"Home" sporting events take place at either the Corona Campus (for Grades 7-12) or Wahsatch Campus (for Grades 5-6).

Winter Basketball Registration (Posted: October 10, 2011)
Winter Basketball registration for Junior High and High School is now underway, and will continue through October 21, 2011. If you already played a Fall sport this school year, you only need to turn in a check for the Winter athletic fees to Dina Fuqua, CMCA/Vanguard Athletic Director not later than Friday, October 21, 2011. If you have not previously played a sport this past Fall, you need to submit the online registration, turn in a current physical and Basketball Cautionary Statement form (both available on our Athletics Forms page) and pay your fees to Athletic Director by October 21, 2011.
